The Kent Island Federation of Arts will host an exhibit of art of the members of the Working Artists Forum in October.  The theme of the show is "Inside, Beside, and Otherwise”.   The KIFA gallery is located at 405 Main Street, Stevensville, MD.  The exhibit will run October 3rd through the 27th.   


A reception, open to the public, will be held on October 11th, from 5 to 7 PM, and an award for the People's Choice Award of Recognition will be given at that reception. The phone number at the gallery is 410-643-7424 or email ifo@kifa.us.

The Working Artists Forum is exhibiting at the A.M. Gravely Gallery,  408 S. Talbot Street, St. Michaels, MD.     The Gallery, in a restored Victorian home built in 1860,  (410-745-5059, amgravelygallery.com). 

Gallery hours: Friday & Saturday 10am-6pm, Sunday & Monday, 10am-3pm.  

CHESAPEAKE MEMORIAL EXHIBIT 


 Members of the Working Artists Forum honored the memory of late members of WAF with an exhibit entitled the “Chesapeake Memorial Exhibit”. The exhibit was held at the Todd Performing Arts Center building of Chesapeake College, 1000 College Circle, Wye Mills,  and is open to the public during college open house.   


The exhibit  was  judged by Kurt Plinke.   Judge Plinke is a well-known visual artist who works in water-based mediums and maintains a studio in Greensboro.  His choices for awards were:


Best of Show:  Carol Cowie’s “Stormy Light”  

Judge’s Award of Excellence:  Barbara Zuehlke’s “Tea for Two"
Judge’s Award of Excellence:  Kathy Kopec’s “Reflection”
Judge’s Award of Excellence:  Georgette Toews’ “City Grit”
Honorable Mention:  Jane Knighton’s "Summer Paddle”;  Mary Veiga’s “A New Day”;  Mo Herbert’s “Water on the Bay”

"WATER, WATER, EVERYWHERE…"    August 18-19, 2018


The Working Artists Forum is exhibiting at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum Saturday and Sunday, August 18 and 19,  10am-4pm in the Steamship Building on the Museum campus at 213 North Talbot Street in historic St. Michaels (410-745-2916, cbmm.org).  The Museum is dedicated to preserving and exploring the history, environment and culture of the entire Chesapeake Bay region. Entry fee to the Museum applies.   Reception Saturday, August 18, from 4-6 PM.
