In support of the Easton - Plein Air Competition and Arts Festival, the Working Artists Forum annually sponsors a juried and 5judged art exhibit entitled “Local Color”. The exhibit will be held concurrently with, and under the auspices of, the 15th annual Easton Plein Air Competition.
The “Local Color” show features Studio Finished Paintings (your best work – artist’s choice of subject matter). Only two dimensional art using acrylic, watercolor, oil and pastel are acceptable. All work must have been done within the last three years. All paintings must be original, and properly framed. Waf reserves the right to remove or refuse any paintings that do not conform to the prospectus.
The exhibit is open to all artists residing on the Delmarva Peninsula in MD, DE or VA, and any member of WAF (hosts of “Local Color”). *Note: Participants who have been juried into the Plein Air – Easton Competition are not eligible to apply.

Awards will be presented Friday , July 19th, at 12:00 noon, with a reception to follow.

VENUE & SCHEDULE:
The Venue of the exhibit is The Tidewater Inn in Easton, MD. Each artist will have an exhibit area of 6’ by 6’ (two single sided standard panels), and artists will display a sufficient number of paintings to fill both panels without overcrowding. Sold paintings may be replenished as necessary. Participating artists are to deliver and set up their paintings on Friday morning , Friday, July 19th, opening day, between 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Paintings are to be hung in an orderly fashion, leaving space between the frames, and shall not go above or below the outer edges of
the panel frames.
The show is open to the public according to the following schedule:
Friday, July 19 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, July 20 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, July 21 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
While all reasonable care will be taken, Working Artists Forum, and their assigns, are not responsible for accidents or damage to your works or you. The participating artists accept all responsibility for borrowed equipment. WAF, the Treasurer of WAF, as well as any show assistants, are not responsible for any monetary losses, including bad checks or credit cards. All artists agree to leave work hanging until the advertised show hours are over. There will be no packing material on the floor until after closing time.
ENTRY FEE, HANGING FEE & COMMISSION:
A non-refundable Entry Fee of $35 must accompany your application. There will be a non-refundable $25 hanging fee for all accepted artists. A 30% commission will be charged on each sale, with portions of the proceeds supporting the scholarship programs of the Working Artists Forum.
The show will be juried by digital images.
Each applicant must enter 3 digital images for jury (fewer or more than 3 and your application will be returned unprocessed). Please send the best possible jpeg images of your work only, do not include frame or other background, crop as needed. Name your file using your initials, title of work and number. For example, artist J.D. and title Lovely View and #1 image (jdlovelyview1.jpg).

Applications and JPEG images must be received by March 9, 2019.
You will be notified by email no later than March 30, 2019 of your acceptance status.
By registering, artists agree to abide by conditions as outlined in the Prospectus.
